NHS-dPEG®13-DSPE, product number QBD-10028, is designed for use in liposomes and micelles. The lipophilic end of the molecule is the lipid 1,2-Distearoyl-sn-glycero-3-phosphoethanolamine (DSPE) modified by conjugation to a single molecular weight, discrete polyethylene glycol (dPEG®) chain. By design, the dPEG® spacer provides discrete PEG surface coating for liposomes and micelles, protecting them from opsonization and removal by the RES. The dPEG® spacer is functionalized as an N-hydroxysuccinimide (NHS) ester, which reacts with primary or secondary amines to form amide bonds, allowing for surface modification of a liposome or micelle with peptides, proteins, or small molecule drugs.

Typical solubility properties (for additional information contact Customer Support) | DCM, DMSO, Acetonitrile, or DMAC |
Storage and handling | -20°C; Always let come to room temperature before opening; be careful to limit exposure to moisture and restore under an inert atmosphere; stock solutions can be prepared with dry solvent and kept for several days (freeze when not in use). dPEG® pegylation compounds are generally hygroscopic and should be treated as such. This will be less noticeable with liquids, but the solids will become tacky and difficult to manipulate, if care is not taken to minimize air exposure. |
