Enzyme Blocking
Enzyme blocking reagents are used to inhibit endogenous enzyme activity—such as peroxidase or alkaline phosphatase—that could otherwise generate background signal in chromogenic assays. By selectively blocking these enzymes, they help ensure that signal development is restricted to specific antibody binding sites. This step is critical for achieving clean, accurate staining in immunohistochemistry and other enzyme-based detection methods.
