Azidoacetic Acid is a simple azido-containing building block that can be used to modify primary amines in the presence activators (e.g. EDC, or DCC) with azide (N3) group through a stable amide bond for subsequent ligation to terminal alkynes, strained cyclooctynes (e.g. DBCO or BCN compounds) or phosphine-labeled molecules.
