Storage Instructions -20°C; Always let come to room temperature before opening; be careful to limit exposure to moisture and restore under an inert atmosphere; stock solutions can be prepared with dry solvent and kept for several days (freeze when not in use). dPEG® pegylation compounds are generally hygroscopic and should be treated as such. This will be less noticeable with liquids, but the solids will become tacky and difficult to manipulate, if care is not taken to minimize air exposure. | |

NHS-dPEG®₄-(m-dPEG®₈)₃-ester
NHS-dPEG®4-(m-dPEG®8)3 ester, product number QBD-10421, is a water-soluble, amine-reactive, single molecular weight, branched PEGylation reagent built around a tris core. A short dPEG®4 arm ends with an N-hydroxysuccinimide (NHS) ester. Three equal-length dPEG®8 branches terminate with methyl groups. The distance from the terminal carbonyl carbon of the dPEG®4 arm to the terminal methyl group on each of the dPEG®8 branches is 55 atoms (60.2 Å). This hydrophilic, branched dPEG® product increases the conjugates’ water solubility and hydrodynamic volume. Conjugates also may display reduced immunogenicity, diminished renal clearance, and lowered non-specific hydrophobic interactions.
The reaction chemistry between the NHS ester and a free amine is standard in almost all bioconjugation labs. NHS-dPEG®4-(m-dPEG®8)3 ester can be used for:
Coating nanoparticle surfaces;
Creating imaging applications;
Developing Antibody-Drug Conjugates (ADCs);
Modifying PK and BD of biomolecular conjugates;
Preventing non-specific hydrophobic interactions; and,
Passivating amine-functionalized inorganic surfaces such as metal and diamond.
