Horse Radish Peroxidase (HRP)

Protein Detection and Visualization | Substrates: Horse Radish Peroxidase (HRP)

Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is a widely adopted enzyme system in diagnostic and research immunodetection due to its superior catalytic efficiency and rapid signal generation. In the presence of hydrogen peroxide, HRP oxidizes chromogenic or fluorogenic substrates, resulting in the deposition of highly localized and high-contrast reaction products. Vector Laboratories offers an extensive portfolio of HRP substrates tailored for varied applications, including DAB, ImmPACT® DAB, ImmPACT® NovaRED, ImmPACT® SG, and VIP. These formulations provide a spectrum of colorimetric outputs optimized for both brightfield microscopy and high-throughput blotting techniques. Enhanced versions such as ImmPACT® DAB and ImmPACT® AMEC Red offer improved sensitivity for detecting minute analyte quantities. HRP systems are also amenable to tyramide signal amplification, significantly boosting detection thresholds. The enzyme’s rapid kinetics and adaptability make it a preferred choice for time-sensitive assays and multiplex labeling protocols, particularly when high signal-to-noise ratios are required for precise cellular or subcellular localization.
