Mounting Media (IHC)
Mounting media are specialized solutions used in immunohistochemistry to preserve stained tissue sections and enhance image quality during microscopic examination. After staining and dehydration steps, mounting media are applied between the tissue section and a coverslip to secure the sample on the slide. This step is critical for protecting the specimen, maintaining the integrity of fluorescent or chromogenic signals, and providing long-term storage stability.
