Introducing VECTASHIELD® PLUS Antifade Mounting Media
VECTASHIELD PLUS is the second generation of the best in class antifade mounting media—VECTASHIELD. This unique, stable formula for preserving fluorescence inhibits rapid photobleaching of fluorescent proteins and fluorescent dyes. Our new non-setting formulation has been engineered to provide consistent, reliable signal retention of all commonly used fluorophores (from the visible to the far red) and eliminate blue background, enabling you to see and do more with each experiment.

Why VECTASHIELD PLUS Mounting Media?
- No inherent toning or background
- Superior signal retention from the visible to the far red spectrum
- Mounted sections can be viewed in 1 hour
- Available with or without DAPI counterstain
- Can be purchased in 2 convenient sizes - 2ml or 10 ml
- Compatible with commonly used fluorophores
- Ideal refractive index
- Easy to use
- Ready to use, requires no warming
- No sealing of coverslips is required (curing formulations)
Easy Application and Use of VECTASHIELD PLUS

Excellent Antifade Properties Across the Spectrum, with Commonly Used Fluorophores
VECTASHIELD PLUS Mounting Media provides excellent protection against fading across the visible spectrum, even under far-red wavelengths. VECTASHIELD PLUS is also compatible with most commercially available fluorophores.

Key features of VECTASHIELD PLUS
1) No background toning
No inherent background provides sharper contrast with surrounding tissue elements for superior signal interpretation and imaging.

Note black background and excellent contrast

Note hazy background and poor contrast.
2) View sections one-hour after mounting
Serial sections stained for cytokeratin using CY 5 and imaged one-hour after mounting following a 3-minute exposure under the fluorescent microscope.

Note retention of strong specific signal.

Note almost complete absence of specific signal.

3) Superior signal retention to enhance your assays
VECTASHIELD PLUS is suitable for use with traditional and contemporary fluorophores across the visible and far-red spectrum. The graph to the right indicates fluorescence signal retention on tissue sections mounted with VECTASHIELD PLUS and imaged 1 hour after mounting following a 3-minute exposure under a fluorescent microscope.

4) Choices to suit your needs
VECTASHIELD PLUS is offered with or without DAPI counterstain and is available for purchase in convenient 2 ml and 10 ml unit-sized formats.
