Images that are created through scientific research not only advance scientific discovery, but offer a glimpse into a world that is not widely seen. As was the case with our previous photography contests, we were very impressed with the artistic presentations of our contest entries as well as the scientific merit and diversity of study they represent.

Selecting a handful of winners and honorable mentions from our entries was a challenging task this year and we would like to thank all of our contestants for taking the time to share their work with us.
