Accounting Associate

Job Description

Vector Laboratories, a Maravai LifeSciences company, is seeking an Accounting Associate responsible for reconciling accounts receivable for Vector Laboratories, Inc. and assist with A/R accounting tasks. Using specialized knowledge and excellent communication skills, this individual will support internal and external customers in an established Life Science company. This position requires a self-starter and is a work from home opportunity.

Responsibilities

  • Reconcile the accounts receivable ledger to ensure that all payments are accounted for and properly posted.
  • Research and resolve customer payment posting discrepancies.
  • Facilitate payment of invoices due by sending bill reminders and contacting clients.
  • Generate financial statements and reports detailing accounts receivable status.
  • Verify discrepancies by and resolve clients’ billing issues.
  • Process accounts and incoming payments in compliance with financial policies and procedures.
  • Perform day to day financial transactions, including verifying, classifying, computing, posting and recording accounts receivables’ data.
  • Prepare bills, invoices and bank deposits.
  • Other responsibilities assigned by Accounts Receivable Manager or Division Controller.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 4 years prior accounts receivable specialist, accounts receivable or accountant experience.

Chemist I

Job Description

Vector Laboratories, a Maravai LifeSciences company, is seeking a Chemist I to join our growing team. The Chemist I will apply their knowledge of synthetic chemistry, analytical chemistry, spectrophotometry, and chromatography to support the manufacturing of Vector's labeling and detection products. This position will be responsible for using routine and advanced procedures as well as documenting all work in production batch records using established good documentation practices. The Chemist I operates and maintains a variety of laboratory equipment, follows established procedures, and works under general supervision on assigned tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Manufactures chemical reagents according to ISO 9001/2015 requirements and established procedures.
  • Documents all manufacturing steps as they are performed using good documentation practices.
  • Understands and interprets analytical results (HPLC, UV-vis, NMR, Mass Spectrometery, TLC).
  • Performs column purification/chromatography and kit reagent preparation using manual and automated procedures.
  • Solves technical problems using laboratory skills and knowledge of chemistry.
  • Drafts and revises manufacturing and ISO related documents as needed.
  • Maintains, calibrates, and validates production equipment using established protocols.

Laboratory Supervisor

Job Description

Vector Laboratories, a Maravai LifeSciences company, is seeking a Laboratory Supervisor responsible for supervising the laboratory manufacturing team in accordance with established ISO 9001/2015 procedures. The Supervisor is responsible for day-to-day laboratory operations, including planning and scheduling of manufacturing jobs, reviewing and releasing batch records, and mentoring junior staff in the production group. The ideal candidate will be experienced in production of reagents, protein purification and conjugation. This is a hands-on position that requires laboratory work in addition to the supervisory function. This role requires familiarity with ERP and Quality systems. The Laboratory Supervisor possesses the initiative and experience to suggest and implement process improvements such as scale-up optimization and new product development to further department and company objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize ERP system and other assets to assist in production planning, inventory maintenance, and batch review/release.
  • Manage daily lab operations including preparation of job paperwork and batch records, assignment of jobs to group members, and tracking/reporting of progress to senior staff.
  • Execute Change Orders, Deviations, CAPAs, an NCMRs as needed.
  • Develop reports to trend and monitor manufacturing process health (e.g., quality, rework metrics) to drive continual improvement.
  • Mentor and train group members, and lead project teams where necessary.
  • Balances quality, productivity, safety and morale to achieve positive results and continuous improvement in all areas
  • Manufacture products according to ISO 9001:2015 requirements and established procedures.
  • Optimize scale-up processes, draft and edit documentation, and assist in new product development as required.
  • Keep equipment operational by scheduling preventative maintenance and repairs, and troubleshooting problems as they arise.

Qualifications

  • At least 5 years of relevant manufacturing laboratory experience, including supervisory experience leading production teams.
  • Experience with conjugation and protein purification techniques are required.

Job Description

The Senior Accountant works independently with a small, impactful team to accomplish a broad range of accounting duties for a manufacturing based organization. Highlights include cost accounting, organizing audits, participating in month end close activities for a pulbicly traded company.

Responsibilities

  • Take a lead role helping to implement and improve processes for the month-end, quarter-end and year-end financial closing process, preparing journal entries, balance sheet and income statement account reconciliations
  • Perform variance analysis for assigned areas of responsibility and partners with corporate department leaders and other corporate personnel to ensure variances are adequately explained
  • Assist in coordinating the completion of lead schedules, roll-forwards, eliminations and other activities related to the preparation of Maravai’s consolidated financial statements
  • Assist in annual audits, preparing audit schedules, other audit requests, and interacting directly with external audit staff
  • Perform inventory cycle count on quarterly basis
  • Analyze and interpret gross margins, material variances, volume variances, inventory movements, and other cost accounting reports, metrics and analysis
  • Collaborate with and provide appropriate business support to the manufacturing finance team (learning and sharing of best practices, striving for continual process improvements, etc.)

Job Description

Vector Laboratories is seeking an Inside Sales Specialist to join our team. The Inside Sales Specialist will engage with customers and accounts via phone and email, uncovering new sales opportunities and following up on leads from the Marketing, Customer Service, and Technical Service departments. Inside Sales Specialists partner with Field Sales Representatives to facilitate Custom and OEM opportunities and other complex sales in which a team effort is required. This position also serves as a key liaison between customers and team members in the Marketing, R&D, Production, Customer Service, and Shipping departments. This position will be based at Vector Laboratories headquarters in Burlingame, CA.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize phone, email, and social media channels to network with decision-makers, nurture relationships, and encourage the customer toward a purchasing decision.
  • Execute strategies for obtaining new customers and maintaining/growing existing customer accounts to meet and preferably exceed revenue goals.
  • Utilize NetSuite and Salesforce to document all customer communications, issue accurate quotes, and track sales outcomes.
  • Provide clear, professional communications with internal teams to ensure the efficient execution of customer orders.
  • Conduct web-based research to characterize customer organizations (i.e., map ship-to addresses to departments and business units) and work with contacts at each account to understand purchasing mechanisms and organizational structure.
