Accounting Associate

Job Description

Cygnus Technologies, a Maravai LifeSciences company based in North Carolina, is seeking an Accountant Associate to join their growing team. This role will perform day-to-day financial transactions, including inputting, verifying, classifying, computing, posting, and recording accounts payable/receivable data.

This role is based in the San Francisco bay area, supporting Cygnus Technologies remotely.

Responsibilities

  • Schedule AP payments and obtain required invoice approvals
  • Prepare invoices, credits, and bank deposits
  • Research vendor or customer payment posting discrepancies & resolve issues
  • Contact vendors/customers to facilitate payments or receipts
  • Reconcile the sub-ledgers to ensure that all payments are accounted for and correctly posted
  • Generate data and reports detailing accounts payable/receivable status
  • Process accounts and payments in compliance with financial policies and procedures
  • Assist with the month‐end close process, annual financial audit, annual tax compliance
  • Other responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years work experience
  • Proven working experience as accounts payable/receivable specialist or accountant
  • Understanding of basic accounting principles, fair credit practices, and collection
  • Data entry skills and proven ability to calculate, post, and manage accounting/financial records
  • Hands‐on experience in operating spreadsheets/MS Office and ERP accounting software (NetSuite highly preferred)

Job Description

Vector Laboratories, a Maravai LifeSciences company, is seeking a Manufacturing Technician I to join our growing team. This Technician will be filling bulk reagents into final container bottles and preparing kits of multiple reagents. Duties include: obtaining bulk reagents from production, printing bottle/container labels, allocating reagents into containers, assembling containers, capping containers, packaging multiple reagents into a single container, and placing finished products into inventory.

Responsibilities

  • Printing labels and applying them to bottles and boxes by hand or with a machine
  • Pipetting reagents into bottles
  • Measuring reagent volumes by graduated cylinder

Job Description

Vector Laboratories, a Maravai LifeSciences company, is seeking a Quality Assurance Specialist to join our growing team. This Quality Assurance Specialist will be working as part of the Quality Assurance team. You will use your training and skills towards the implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the Quality Management System. You will be ensuring compliance with applicable domestic and international standards and regulations. The qualified individual will be responsible for managing quality events such as OOS, nonconformances, CAPAs, escalated complaints, perform product releases, and support other quality system processes. This is a highly visible, hands-on position that must be able to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

  • Manage OOS, nonconformance, CAPA, and escalated complaint systems.
  • Review and approve Phase II OOS
  • Review and approve batch records for product release
  • Provide training in ISO requirements and quality procedures
  • Assist in internal and external audits, including customer audits
  • Assist with document and record control functions as needed
  • Report and analyze monthly quality system metrics from excel logs and electronic Quality Management System
  • Lead quality improvement projects, including planning, communicating, developing action plans while providing regular project updates
  • Assure compliance with all in-house or external specifications to standards
  • Identify quality issues/discrepancies and effectively resolve discrepancies within the organization

Qualifications

  • Quality professional with a minimum of 3 years in a quality role in a life science industry

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with NetSuite ERP & MasterControl a plus
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

Senior Accountant

Job Description

The Senior Accountant is responsible for performing accounting tasks for Vector Laboratories located in Burlingame, CA, a business unit of Maravai Life Sciences. This position is also responsible for performing accounting tasks for other Maravai Business Units. This position reports to the Division Controller.

  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, Cost Accounting, Revenue Recognition, Accounting Processes & Procedures, and Controls and Systems.
  • Organized and self‐motivated individual with excellent problem solving skills and enjoys working with people in a challenging, fast‐paced and growing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure GAAP compliance through invoicing and revenue recognition
  • Prepare monthly deferred revenue entries and monthly revenue entries
  • Ensure GAAP compliance through A/P bill coding and processing
  • Timely completion of month end process including preparation of journal entries, accounts reconciliation and preparing supporting schedules
  • Perform account reconciliations
  • Perform month‐end inventory audit and reconciliation
  • Perform gross margin analysis, standard cost review and analysis, BOMs/ECOs review and cost allocation
  • Perform variance analysis and have the ability to identify anomalies
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly financial reports and participate in financial review meetings
  • Assist in the preparation of materials for the annual external audit Assist in the preparation of materials for the annual 409A valuation
  • Assist in cash management
  • Manage Accounts Payable and vendor payment process

Qualifications
