Biotinylated, succinylated Concanavalin A (Con A)

Cat. No: B-1005S
Price: $131.00
Unit Size: 5 mg

Overview

Succinylated Con A is made from our highly purified Con A and has many unusual properties, such as failure to induce patch and cap formation and at high concentrations does not show a diminished mitogenic effect.

Biotinylated, succinylated Concanavalin A has an appropriate number of biotins bound to provide the optimum staining characteristics for this lectin. This conjugate is supplied essentially free of unconjugated biotins and is preserved with sodium azide.

More Information

Succinylated Con A is made from our highly purified Con A and has many unusual properties, such as failure to induce patch and cap formation and at high concentrations does not show a diminished mitogenic effect. In addition, succinylated Con A affects cyclic nucleotide levels in lymphocytes differently than does native Con A.

Biotinylated, succinylated Concanavalin A has an appropriate number of biotins bound to provide the optimum staining characteristics for this lectin. This conjugate is supplied essentially free of unconjugated biotins and is preserved with sodium azide.

This biotinylated lectin is an ideal intermediate for examining glycoconjugates using the Biotin-Avidin/Streptavidin System. First the biotinylated lectin is added, followed by the VECTASTAIN ABC Reagent, Avidin D conjugate, or streptavidin derivative.

Inhibiting/Eluting Sugar: 200 mM α-methyl mannoside
