Functional Aspects:
Cytokeratin 5 is normally expressed in the basal epithelia
of many tissues and non-keratinizing stratified squamous
epithelia. Cytokeratin 5 is expressed in most epithelial and
biphasic mesotheliomas as well as basal cell epitheliomas and
some squamous cell carcinomas. Clone XM26 was raised
against the C-terminus of cytokeratin 5.
