Mouse monoclonal antibody suitable for immunohistochemistry and western blotting.
Functional Aspects:
Villin is found predominantly in epithelial cells that develop
a brush border such as those in the intestinal mucosa, gall
bladder, kidney proximal tubules, and ductuli efferentes of
the testis. It is located in the apical cytoplasm, adjacent to
the villus, and hence is a good indicator of cell polarity. This
protein is composed of three domains. The first two domains
are homologous and the third domain is called the headpiece.
This antibody was generated using a recombinant protein
corresponding to the C-terminal “headpiece” region of the
human villin molecule.
